Gyokuro is highest grade Japanese green tea. It's is grown in a covered-farm. The covering process took around 20 days before plucking process. This covering process reduce the bitterness in the tea leaves, and increase the sweetness.
Other than the covering process, Gyokuro only harvested once per year, and only the sprout are hand-picked to produce Gyokuro. This make Gyokuro the finest taste of all green teas.
This Gyokuro green tea is produced in Okabe, Shizuoka. Shizuoka is known for its fine tea leaves production. Most of the Gyokuro products in the market are blended with Kabusecha or tea leaves from other region (most of them do not state the production region). Our Gyokuro products do not use blended tea leaves, for example this Okabe Gyokuro is purely produced from tea leaves in Okabe, Shizuoka.
