Misaki Uji Matcha is produced from higher grade first flush Tencha grown in Uji. Uji is one of the most popular region in Japan for its good matcha production. This Misaki Uji Matcha has relatively good umami sweetness and lower bitterness as compared to culinary grade Matcha, suitable for making matcha thin tea as in Japanese Tea Ceremony. Similar to our Daily Matcha, it's also good for making matcha beverages such as matcha latte and smoothies.
Misaki matcha is certified organic by JAS. Please note that Organic Matcha has lower sweetness and lighter color as compared to conventional Matcha from the same grade. This is because organic fertilisers are not able to provide strong nutrients to tea plants. Read Organic vs Conventional Matcha.
