Similar to our Gyokuro, Organic Gyokuro is grown under shade about 20 days before harvest. The shade grown process increase the umami sweetness and reduce the astringency of the green tea. Organic Gyokuro is grown following standard of JAS and USDA and it's organic certified by both organisations.
Because there are only limited choices of fertilizer can be used for organic tea cultivation, therefore the natural condition such as the soil, weather, water quality etc is a very critical factor in determining the tea quality. Thanks to the ideal condition of Shizuoka, this Organic Gyokuro has good aroma and sweetness. This product is 100% Gyokuro tea leaves, not like many other tea shops selling blended Gyokuro.
